The following information should answer most questions prior to the season start.

Since the city owns the fields, and because of the unpredictable Florida weather, the league may have to revise start dates, change field venue, cancel practices or games with no notice. If time permits, we try to reschedule all cancelled games. The league uses three methods, i.e. Web-site, Emails, and Information Line, to get information to its membership. Last minute schedule changes may only be updated on the league website and information line.

Please read these instructions carefully. You must complete mandatory requirements and bring required documents to the first practice session so registration can be finalized. No player is allowed to participate until paperwork is received by the league.

Can I request a specific Player or Coach? CreekSoccer uses a random process for player assignment to a team and he/she is not guaranteed assignment to a specific coach or to be paired up with a specific player.  The only exceptions are sibling players and coach children.

When are Players Notified? Coach will contact you by phone with the player team assignment. Coaches have until November 5th to contact the player of his/her practice date and time. Please only contact the league if you haven’t been notified by your division practice date.   Division practice date chart can be found at the bottom of this page.

What to do if a coach doesn't contact me by my practice date?   Either contact the League at 877-636-8296 or send an email to nocoachcalled@creeksoccer.com Please make your message brief and include the following information: Player Name, Date of Birth, and Phone number to contact you.

When are uniforms issued?   Your uniform is included in the price of registration and will be issued the week before your first game.  Your coach will be responsible for issuing uniforms.

What equipment do I purchase? You'll need to purchase Shin Guards and Soccer Shoes.  Additional Items are optional: Soccerball, Water Bottle, and any Safety Gear (i.e. Mouth Guard, Head Gear).

Does the city operate the league? No, the city doesn't operate the league. Coconut Creek Soccer is an all volunteer, non-profit organization that relies solely on membership and sponsors to fund the program.  The city provides fields; CCSI provides the volunteer staffing to operate the program during the season.

Can I volunteer? Yes, you get what you put into the program! The league depends upon 100% volunteers to staff the many position required for the league to operate efficiently.

Number of games and playing time? CreekSoccer has a mandatory substitution policy for select divisions. This policy will assist coaches in fulfilling the league requirement for every player to play at least half the game. This season will consist of 10 games per division with no playoffs. Every division (except L'il Stingers) will host All-Star games which every player in the division is eligible to participate in. Games cancelled will be rescheduled when possible if time permits in the season.

Guarantee of Placement
Registration will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. The number of teams for each division depends on the amount of parents who volunteer to coach. Maximum teams per division will consist of six teams of ten players assigned to each team. Once divisions are full, a waiting list for those who did not make the initial cut-off will be established. In the event additional volunteers agree to coach and have met all league requirements for coaching, the Board of Directors will then be able to consider forming additional teams.

Games and Playing Time
CreekSoccer has a mandatory substitution policy for all divisions. Policy assists coaches in playing every player at least half the game.  Season consist of 10 games per division with no playoffs.  At the end of the season every division (except L'il Stingers) will host an All-Star game which every player is eligible to participate. Canceled games will be rescheduled when possible if time permits in the season.

How To Determine A Child's "Soccer Age".Children are usually placed in age groups based on their birth date. For most leagues, the way to determine a child's "soccer age" is to ask "How old was the child on last July 31?" For example, if a child was nine as of 7/31/02, they will stay in the "Under-10" (U-10) group until 7/31/03, when they move up to U-11. This is how it is done at all the soccer programs I know of, but you should check with your league if you are unsure how they determine "soccer age". You should keep in mind that a child with a July birthday is almost a year younger than a child with an August birthday (even though they may be the same "soccer age") & that the younger children often have shorter attention spans and often won't learn as quickly as the older children.

The following chart is to be used as a guide only for the 2009-10 season and is not final until registration is complete. The league may have to revise start dates, change field venue, change practice day, or change game day based on any of the following reasons: number of players who register to play, number of teams in a division, and field availability from the city. If you are not sure whether you can be flexible with your registration, we recommend you do not register for the program.
